Using Unity
- Boot the computer. Verify that the Ubuntu login screen is displayed.
- Log into the computer. Verify that the desktop wallpaper and panels are displayed.
- Click on Ubuntu Logo and search Monitor.
- Change the screen resolution by selecting a different resolution from the Resolution dropdown list.
- Press 'Apply'. Verify that the new resolution is set correctly and that the screen is still visible.
Using GNOME Classic
- Boot the computer. Verify that the Ubuntu login screen is displayed.
- Log into the computer. Verify that the desktop wallpaper and panels are displayed.
- Open System Monitor (System → Administration → System Monitor).
- Change the screen resolution by selecting a different resolution from the Resolution dropdown list.
- Press 'Apply'. Verify that the new resolution is set correctly and that the screen is still visible.
Verification
- Verify that the display is functioning properly.
- Verify that the resolution can be changed.
